After
our learning curve from last year,
we arrived at Turriff armed with
plastic pipe and a tarpaulin to cover
the
pen (it rains a lot in Turriff -
or seems to) to find this year a
fantastic marquee set up for the
goats. We had been allocated 2 pens
but I put the girls together so there
was one for all our bits and bobs.
I had not managed a lot of lead training
with Prue but she didn't seem to
mind and actually walked and didn't
dig her hoofs in and won 1st in her
class. The kid we kept this year,
Cloud was another matter. The screams
she made were appalling. Goats scream
when they don't want to do something
or when something is uncomfortable
not necessarily in pain. Once people
could see I wasn't strangling her,
you could see them thinking thank
goodness that not me and giggling
a bit. Cloud would not walk on the
lead at all but she did stand well
and amazingly came away with 3rd in
the kid class. |
